This painting is a figure study on prepared canvas. The clouds and abstract skyscape are created with spray paints. The figure was drawn with acrylic ink and watercolor paints. The figure nestles into the skyscape with as much movement as possible, but with suspended, peaceful balance, while flying within what world it is embraced.

About the Artist:

I’m an artist and musician who lives in Des Moines and originates from Iowa City. My main mediums are murals, sculpture, fine art, and electronic art. My ultimate goal of my artwork is to design functional work. This includes objects such as plants, home function items, musical contraptions, sculptural lighting, and styled unique fashion. I love to study electronics, functional sculptural items, and the natural world through my mediums. Collaboration is also essential to my progress. As artists, we need to communicate with each other and share ideas. I have been collaborating with many artists, including not only painters, but also artists that work with assorted surfaces, digital work, natural environments, dance, written word, philosophy, electronics, and music. I yearn to discover new blendings of materials like found items, plants, electrical functions, and home design. A chair should be designed so it is enticing to sit. Walls should be functional beyond structure and aesthetics. My mediums allow the unique identification and re-identification for what a subject means beyond its physical presence. My present study is how an object can be brought to cognitive paths in daily life with joy in its use. I am also planning to go beyond this elaboration of objects by using songs, videos, renewable energy, building sound circuits, and interactive electronics. I am aiming to empower heartfelt messages through art. Not just for myself, but for the art community. I’m aiming to bring Arts in Storefronts and Free Legal Walls to this community. If artists are able to open up their spaces and means of their work, it would design a sense of community between art producers and consumers. My mission is to blend and create in a completely new function and bridge definitions for what art means on this Earth.
