Experience the joy of learning to read your texts and prayers in Tibetan. With these study materials and the accompanying teleconference course, you have what is needed to begin your studies with David Curtis, a teacher who has taught hundreds of students for over 25 years. This course is the first step in learning to read texts such as the Heart Sutra --a process that can now be accomplished in only a few months by students who follow the TLI program.

Laying a Firm Foundation in Tibetan Language. Studying Tibetan can enhance:

• personal Buddhist practice
• group sadhana practice
• academic studies
• meditation retreats
• reading Buddhist texts and prayers

The set consists of: Introduction to the Tibetan Language: Level I Study Manual; Instructional DVD of the Level I Course (2 DVD set); Instructional CD of the Level I Course (2 CD Audio set); Gift certificate for the 9-week Level I Virtual Course (a teleconference group course).

The teleconference course is offered three times annually. Classes are usually held on Tuesdays from 5-6:30 pm Pacific Time. Student needs only to place a call to the conference call center. Have to miss a class? Not a problem. A telephone link to recordings of the class is provided for each class.

The Tibetan Language Institute was founded on the belief that Tibetan language study is essential for the preservation of the Tibetan culture, a vibrant world heritage whose message is peace. On a more personal level, learning even a little Tibetan provides a deeply rewarding means for the individual Dharma practitioner to enrich Dharma study and practice. TLI strives to create opportunities wherein both goals can be realized.

The Tibetan Language Institute is a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit, non-sectarian in orientation.
