Item Description
Literally translated as “to collect the mind,” sesshin is a time of seclusion to devote oneself fully to intensive zazen practice. Endless Mountain Zendo invites you to participate in one of their 2018-2019 weekend sesshins.
Highly recommended for the serious study of Zen. Participants reside at the zendo, keep silence and follow a full schedule of zazen, along with chanting, prostrations, walking, work practice, free-form stretch period, dharma talks and one-on-one meetings with the teacher, and formal vegetarian meals. The sesshin begins with an informal supper on opening night and finishes by 5:00 pm on the last day.
Sesshin is a worthwhile and achievable challenge and a clear and dedicated commitment to complete the sesshin from beginning to end is essential.
Endless Mountain Zendo, established in 1998, is a Zen Buddhist country practice center dedicated to the realization of Buddha Nature in the style of practice based in the Rinzai Zen Buddhist tradition. The resident teacher is Genro Lee Milton, Sensei. The center is located in the midst of 18 woodland acres in the rolling hills of northeastern Pennsylvania.
