The winning bidder will receive a handwritten manuscript page from the opera EMBEDDED, created and written by composer Patrick Soluri and librettist Deborah Brevoort.

 

About Patrick Soluri

PATRICK SOLURI is a NYC based composer of music for ballet, opera and film/TV. His love of telling stories through music is evident in a large body of work for the stage, screen and concert hall.

His one-act opera EMBEDDED, commissioned by AMERICAN LYRIC THEATER, won the 2013 Frontiers Competition at FORT WORTH OPERA (FWO), and had its fully staged world premiere in March 2014 at FARGO-MOORHEAD OPERA, and was performed at FWO during their Spring 2016 season. Mr. Soluri is known for his series of 10 minute operas; four have premiered at CARNEGIE HALL. With over a half dozen performances, his most performed short opera is the dark comedy FIGARO's LAST HANGOVER. Premiering in Oct. 2013, FWO commissioned the sequel, FIGARO & THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE. He was featured in the '2003 VOX Showcasing American Composers' by NEW YORK CITY OPERA. In addition, Mr. Soluri's operas have been performed by VIENNE EN VOIX FESTIVAL, NEVADA OPERA, CENTER CITY OPERA THEATER, URBAN ARIAS, UNIVERSITY OF ALBANY, RTB, and JUVENTAS.   www.Soluri.com

 

About Deborah Brevoort

Deborah Brevoort is a playwright and librettist from Alaska who now lives in the New York City area. She is an alumna of New Dramatists, one of the original company members of Perseverance Theatre in Juneau, Alaska and a co-founder of Theatre Without Borders, a group of individual artists dedicated to international theatre exchange.

She is best known for her play, The Women of Lockerbie, which won the Kennedy Center’s Fund for New American Plays Award and the silver medal in the Onassis International Playwriting Competition. It was produced in London at the Orange Tree, off-Broadway at the New Group and Women’s Project and in Los Angeles at the Actors Gang. It is produced all over the US and internationally. About EMBEDDED

A terrorist, seeking revenge, lures a well-known television journalist to Amontillado’s, a wine bar in lower Manhattan, with an offer to embed her in his cell. Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s Cask of the Amontillado, EMBEDDED tells the story of an aging TV anchor who finds herself on the other side of the headlines. Commissioned by the American Lyric Theater as part of The Poe Project.
