Item Description

The Joseph Ambler Inn today is the result of decades of work and vision by the owner, Richard Allman, and his dedicated staff. What started as a simple, 12-room farmhouse B&B in 1983 is today a 52-room luxury hotel and restaurant located in 5 historic buildings: The Farmhouse, The Barn, The Thomas Wilson House, The Corybeck Cottage, and the John Roberts House. Visit Joseph Ambler Inn for histories of the buildings and information on the hotel's evolution.

The land on which the hotel now stands was originally part of a large expanse owned by William Penn. In 1682, William Penn granted 1,000 acres to Richard Pearce. In 1711, 50 acres were sold to William Morgan. Morgan built the original section of the Farmhouse, which consisted of a ground floor where meals were prepared, and a small upstairs sleeping chamber. When Morgan died, the property was sold to Joseph Ambler.

Joseph Ambler Inn has earned a well-deserved reputation for its distinctive lunch and dinner menus. Featuring only the finest quality fresh meats, fish, and produce, and seasonal herbs and vegetables, every dish is a delight.

Exquisite cuisine, attention to detail, and an award-winning wine list combine to make Joseph Ambler Inn one of the most popular places to dine in Eastern Pennsylvania.
