Item Description

This collection includes:

Mas Martinet Menut 2013, Catalonia
Vinous 90:

Limpid ruby-red. Lush, expansive black and blue fruits, suggestions of cracked pepper and fresh flowers. Juicy and seamless, vibrant blackcurrant and bitter cherry flavors gain weight in the glass. In the finish, smooth tannins slowly shape the clinging, ample and lively wine.

Artadi Vinas de Gain 2006, Rioja
Wine Advocate  92; Vinous 91+:

(100% tempranillo, like all of these Artadi wines) Inky ruby. Intensely perfumed, sexy bouquet of dark berries, fresh flowers and smoky minerals. Tactile and deep, offering powerful blackberry and mulberry flavors, chewy tannins and very good back-end minerality. Picks up sweet mocha, bitter cherry skin and candied licorice on the long, sappy finish. This wine is showing a more serious personality than I've ever seen at this stage.- Josh Raynolds

Lopez de Heredia Vina Tondonia Reserva 2005, Rioja
Wine Advocate 93:

The 2005 ViƱa Tondonia Reserva is a blend of 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacho, 5% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo from their vineyards in the meander of the Ebro River, where they have some 100 hectares of vineyards. The wine fermented in the original oak vats that are now some 140 years of age. There is no temperature control and malolactic was also in the vat. The wine was transferred to oak barrels where it slowly matured in their deep, humid caves for no less than six years. After this, it was bottled unfiltered after being fined with egg whites. I think the quality gap between the Reserva and Gran Reserva has been getting smaller since the 2001 vintage and this 2005 is nothing short of exceptional. It's clean and complex, with more freshness. The wine is very spicy and with a palate that feels very balanced, livelier than in the past. It has a long finish where the flavors are clean. Easy to drink and very pleasurable.

Numanthia Termes 2014, Toro
Wine Spectator 92:

Cocoa and toasty notes frame black cherry and currant flavors in this round red. Well-integrated tannins and fine acidity give this balance and focus. In the polished, modern style. Drink now through 2028.

Bodegas Muga Reserva Unfiltered Rioja 2008, Toscana, Italy
Vinous 92:

(70% tempranillo, 20% garnacha, 7% mazuelo and 3% graciano, fermented in oak vats and raised in oak barrels for 24 months): Vivid ruby. Heady, exotic aromas of candied dark berries, vanilla, cola and dark chocolate, with a slow-building floral quality. The palate offers sweet cherry-vanilla and licorice flavors, along with notes of rose pastille and bitter chocolate. Finishes sweet and long, with silky tannins adding shape and gentle grip. This is the only red wine that Muga bottled this vintage so all of the Prado Enea fruit went in here.
