Item Description
15 x 22" print, matted and framed by artist Erik Jacobs. This is a photograph of an actual living projection, captured in-camera without manipulation in Photoshop.
Boston #StandsWithImmigrants is an internationally recognized public art project emblazoning Boston with the faces of immigrants, highlighting their contributions and showing the world we stand with them in solidarity.
Boston #StandsWithImmigrants seeks to make evident — in a visually arresting, yet human way — that immigrants and refugees are integral to the fabric of our society. And that ‘they’ are in fact ‘us.’
More about the project can be found at www.standswithimmigrants.org
This stunning print depicts Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA) Executive Director Eva Millona imposed on the Lenny Zakim Bridge. MIRA and the Lenny Zakim Fund are EAL partners in service to social justice and local immigrants. This print captures the spirit of our shared service and commitment to making our communities welcoming and safe for all people.
Eva Millona grew up in Tirana, the capital of Albania. She followed three generations of her family who have lived in the United States. She says "The favorite part of my job is when we see policies put in place or budget items passed or anti-immigrant legislation defeated or helping the community as a whole. We believe that integration is a great cause. So just helping them to integrate, better learn the language, better learn the skills, be part of the workforce, and be contributors is the best part of my job."
