Item Description
Geisha In Red is a mixed media on canvas reprint by renowned artist Sergey Smirnov in a beautiful wooden frame 38" wide x 56" tall.
Combining time-honored religious icon painting with western style portraiture, the hauntingly beautiful art of Sergey Smirnov (1953-2006) is inspired by the Parsuna art movement. The art created by Smirnov's technique has been described as 'jewel like' due to his refined touch on an otherwise rough style; and his deeply saturated hues along with textured backgrounds create depth and intrigue surrounding his subjects. The haunting beauty of his personal style is what sets Smirnov apart and makes him a master of breathtakingly unique works of art.
SERGEY SMIRNOV - 1953 - 2006
In 1997, Sergey Smirnov was honored as only the third living artist to have a personal exhibit in the Kremlin's Manezh, which ranks as one of the most prestigious art galleries in the world. For three weeks, people from across Russia lined up at the gallery to catch a glimpse of Smirnov's haunting, elegant art. In the same year, Smirnov exhibited at the Orlean House in London, dazzling both critics and the public with his work. Smirnov has been avidly collected throughout the world, and his art is included in several noteworthy Russian collections, including those of former Russian president Boris Yeltsin.
Due to the size, this print will need to be collected from SunRidge school at the conclusion of the auction during the times listed below.
