Item Description
TITLE: Everybody Belongs in Alameda
SIZE: 26" x 28"
DESCRIPTION: This framed art piece is done in the style of Japanese wood blocking. It was a multistep process beginning with each child sketching an image of their home. The drawings were then traced onto styrofoam sheets. Traditionally in wood blocking, images would be carved onto the surface of wood. The children then rolled block printing ink onto the styrofoam. The final step was to carefully press their art onto art paper. The children of Mrs. Wilson’s first grade class are very proud to auction off this one of a kind masterpiece. The multitude of colors and individualized drawings represent the “Everybody Belongs” mindset of the students and faculty of Bay Farm School.
