Item Description
The successful bidder for this item will receive the fine art print "Pink Fog" by artist Sherry Buckner.
Sherry describes the image, a print from a pastel painted original: "I travel early in the day in search of the softening effects of fog. I painted this image about an hour from my home on a bay called Hood Canal. There was a tremendous pink fog - created by a filtered low sun and a dense fog/cloud lying over the bay. It filled the sky and across the water for as far as I could see. The pink fog was reflected on the water and created a layered and enveloping soft glow that lasted for hours."
In 2014 Ms. Buckner started taking trips to draw with pastels directly from the landscape. She found favorite places and returned to the same sites frequently. She looks for places where the land can be viewed up close and with a long distance view, knowing that when she's drawing she's connecting with the landscape at a deep level, so the work has emotional content for her. Her most recent pieces explore new ways of working with pan pastels, by embedding the pastel into paper board and using very fine layers to create subtle color and light areas.
