Item Description
Taittinger collaborated with optical artist Victor Vaserely to create a metallic gold bottle design for their 1978 vintage in order to more directly pair champagne with art. The result is a striking vessel from which to pour an even more unique champagne.
The 1978 harvest was one of the smallest in the history since the pre-war period (only 78 million bottles). This highly-collectible Champagne was produced from 40% Chardonnay grapes from the best vineyards in the Côte de Blancs and 60% Pinot Noir harvested from the best vineyards on the Montagne de Reims.
The bottle itself has scuffs and discoloration, but the inside is what really counts. Pairs well with shellfish, specifically crab and lobster. For a very special occasion!
