About Gilvey Glass Studio
Gilvey Glass Studio started up their furnace in 1980 in the Hudson Valley after a one year apprenticeship with glass artist Steven Fellerman and a brief studio at the Webatuck Craft Village. John Gilvey’s business grew substantially during the 1980′s producing perfume bottles, vases and paperweights for exclusive department stores such as Bergdorf Goodman, I magnum, Harrods of London and Nieman Marcus.
Since his studio was part of his residence, both sons naturally gravitated towards the primal fire located in the lowest level of their Quonset barn. There they both learned the skills it took to become glassblowers. Both Luke and Sean Gilvey’s work is featured for sale here on gilveyglass.com and at the Gilvey family studio.
