Item Description
Barber half dollars replaced Liberty Seated halves in 1892 and have become a popular type coin among collectors of today. The Barber half dollar, the brainchild of namesake designer Charles E. Barber, was originally called the Liberty Head half dollar but has been nicknamed for its creator by numismatists in much the same way the Morgan dollar has become the popular name for the Liberty Head dollar of 1878 through 1921.
