Item Description
This bowl-shaped basket was handwoven from papyrus by one of a community of AIDS widows in the foothills of the Ruwenzori Mountains of Uganda. These HIV positive women are members of KIDA, a local outreach to families affected by HIV/AIDS. The proceeds from their sales allow these widows to pay school fees for their children.
Basket is 11 inches in diameter.
