In the West Coast for the Tlingit people, the Wolf Symbol represents loyalty, strong family ties, good communication, education, understanding, and intelligence. Of all land animals, the Wolf has the strongest supernatural powers and is the most accomplished hunter. The Wolf is a very social and communicative creature, he uses body movement, touch, and sound. The Wolf Symbol has an important cultural significance to First Nations in North America. This father is wearing a Wolf mask is “protecting” is cub.
Paulo Delgado was born in Mozambique and grew up in a little village in Portugal. He completed his degree in Graphic Design and worked in that area for almost 20 years. During those years, he created many illustrations and dedicated much of his time to photography. In 2002, he started painting a collection of paintings based on Mozambican ethnographic aspects and culture. He took part in various exhibits. In 2010, he immigrated to Canada and started painting again. His initial works were based on Portuguese cultural aspects and within a short time, he became interested in more Canadian culture especially first pioneers and first Nations. This fascination grew and he began vibrant images based on tradition.
He wanted to help because I am fortunate to have a roof over my head and food, if all the lucky ones helped the world it would be a better place for everyone.
