by Janean Ray
Roy Orbison is one of the most legendary artists of the 20th century with songs like "Pretty Woman" - "Only the Lonely" and "In Dreams". In my photography I like to capture "moments" and one of my passions in that is candid photography. So I put the two together and started a project I'm working on where I capture iconic faces in their most memorable moments yet altering them in such a way that it only takes small portions of their image to know exactly who they are. I've done legendary singers and Hollywood stars from the 60's during some of their most iconic moments. I hope you'll find this piece interesting and memorable.
Artist Biography: Janean Ray
Janean is a self-taught photographer and genealogist. She has been an office manager for 31 years in the legal community. She took up photography on a serious level after she quit smoking and began walking the towpaths. Her goal was to someday let her artwork - "work" for her. She wanted to photograph as much as she could before she couldn't anymore. As she tells people, "I capture moments I don't make them". She loves candid photography of people and loves to capture details and unusual things that most people walk by. She photographs everything from A-Z and want my work to be natural and inspire others to see the beauty around them.
