Jewelry History
Rachel Dooley, founder and designer of Gemma Redux, is a 2005 graduate of Fordham Law School. While studying for the New York bar, Rachel spent her downtime designing and creating mixed metal necklaces from vintage and industrial materials, which would later evolve into the Gemma Redux collection.
Recently named a CFDA designer, Rachel has created jewelry featured in such editorials as Harper’s Bazaar, WWD, and Vogue Japan, and Gemma Redux pieces have also been recently photographed on Blake Lively, Cameron Diaz, Jessica Alba, and others.
February 1, 2010, NY,NY – The Council of Fashion Designers of America and New York City Economic Development Corp. announced GEMMA REDUX one of the inaugural designers chosen for tenancy in the CFDA FASHION INCUBATOR. To be eligible, designers were required to submit a detailed business plan, have substantive editorial coverage and orders from top retailers, be in business for a minimum of 1 ½ years, and have paid and/or volunteer professional staff.
