Artist/Designer Carol Howie Eldridge, trained as a printmaker and illustrator, has been creating successful designs since she graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston.
Her whimsical and colorful design themes reflect the wondrous pleasures of everyday life. Playful and happy, her designs are cutting edge. Her work has been licensed on a wide range of products from giftware to tabletop to fabrics to innovative product designs over a 40 year Art Licensing career.
Carol has worked with some of the leading manufacturers in the business, accounting for multi-millions of dollars of sales at the retail level. She has created numerous proprietary designs for major retailers all over the United States. An example of some of the retailers she has worked with are Target, Macys, Steinmart, Sur La Table, Saks on Five, Pier One, CVS, Wegmans, Hobby Lobby and many others.
Just two years ago Carol started Captains Quarters Marblehead with her husband Ken known as the “Captain,” after he retired from a long career at a major corporation. The idea was to have something that they could work on together and so this little gem of a home business began. An art studio/workshop where they create painted Folk art designs and handcrafted wooden products reflecting the town that they both grew up and love, Marblehead.
