About The Artist

"Absorbing myself in art is a form of meditation; an escape and also a connection."

Rhae's influences as an artist come from taking trips to the local art gallery as a child, in Burlington Ontario and then by visiting art galleries and exhibits in Toronto, Ottawa and Europe as an adult.

However Rhae's main influence came from spending years in Muskoka appreciating local galleries, studios and art shows. It is cottage country where she finds the artwork truly resonates with her, it is more rural at its core.

Rhae creates her artwork using a variety of mediums but her favourite is painting with oils, this is when she becomes totally immersed in her work and is energized. She is primarily a self-taught artist and continues to take courses through community art workshops in the Toronto area, where she resides today.

Rhae finds painting portraits and caricatures of people and pets most rewarding. She loves capturing their inner spirit in a moment in their life to behold forever.

Painting for others has always given Rhae immense pleasure, gratification and appreciation. Her paintings are all about feeling a moment in time.
