Haiti - 12 x 12" Giclee on Archival Matte Canvas with Satin UV Protected Coating by Alicia Stewart
Santa Fe School for the Arts & Sciences Beloved Alumna Alicia Stewart (1999 - 2017) grew up in Madrid, New Mexico, and at an early age began making artwork inspired by her vivid imagination. Alicia graduated from the New Mexico School for the Arts and received a scholarship at MICA, Maryland Institute College of Art.
A trip to Haiti inspired this painting depicting Haiti street life. She often said that volunteering in a summer camp in Haiti changed her life.
Her first exhibition was at the Metallo Gallery in Madrid, N.M. The original painting was last exhibited at The Harwood Museum in Taos and was curated by writer and art critic Lucy R. Lippard.
