Item Description
This is an oil painting on canvas of the New River Gorge, the newest National Park and is 8"x10".
The painter is Meredith Gregg
Artist Statement:
Meredith is a WV painter and has been creating 2-d art since the 1990’s. A
painter, printmaker and art teacher, she has an art studio in Fayetteville that has
nurtured her artist endeavors for 20 years. Her art was been shown mostly in
West Virginia, Still-lifes and landscapes, as well as, most recently, abstracts
based in universal symbols and spiritual self-exploration. She is a juried artist at
the Tamarack Dickerson Fine Arts Gallery and has shown at WV Division of
Culture and History and a recipient of 2 Artist Development Grants. The WV
State Museum has acquired a piece of her botanical studies. Gregg’s art has
been shown in Charleston, Berkley Springs, Fayetteville, and Beckley among
other galleries outside of the state over the years. The WV State Museum has
acquired a piece of her botanical studies.
Meredith lives across the street from the property now known as the “New
Roots” farm for the past 26 years.
