Relax in the large outdoor hot tub where you can soak your cares away! Add some time in the steam room for complete relaxation. Enjoy thoughtfully constructed cuisine at Cafe Kandahar, a destination in its own right, which features an extensive wine list and is led by a James Beard Foundation nominated chef. Seek refuge at the end of your adventuresome days in the cozy solitude of your room. There is no elevator, and all rooms require some stairs. With a location just seven miles from the great small town of Whitefish, Kandahar Lodge is an ideal destination for all seasons!

During the summer, you can walk from Kandahar Lodge to the Zip Line Tours, an Alpine Slide and the Aerial Adventure Park. You can also ride the chairlift or hike to the 7,000 foot Summit, or ride more than 30 miles of lift-accessed and cross-country mountain bike trails. For winter travelers, Kandahar is in an excellent ski-in location at Whitefish Mountain Resort with an incredible array of terrain on over 3,000 acres. There is rarely a lift line and conditions are most often powder and packed powder (annual average snowfall is 300 inches). Whitefish Mountain Resort ranked #10 overall recently in SKI Magazine's Reader Survey. The free S.N.O.W. bus provides convenient access from Kandahar to the town of Whitefish. At the end of your ski day simply ski down Hailey's Run to the hotel. At the beginning of the ski day, you can choose a short walk and ski down to Chair 6, or the hotel will take you to the lift plaza in the Resort Village in its van. Within walking distance are the Bierstube, the Hellroaring Saloon, ski shops, a convenience store and other skier services. While the resort is very easy to walk around, the Kandahar van is available for shuttles to/from any location in the Village during daytime hours.

If you choose to visit Glacier National Park, you'll find that opportunities for outdoor thrills abound! Go whitewater rafting, horseback riding, hiking, fishing, golfing, or visit Glacier Highline, where you can embark on the ultimate treetop adventure with over 50 different highline and ropes course activities! Many other winter activities are available in the area. Consider taking a dog sled adventure, going snowmobiling, snowcat-skiing or cross-country skiing. Experience Glacier National Park in the winter with a guided cross-country or snowshoe trip. The town of Whitefish has an ice-skating rink, an indoor Olympic swimming pool and lots of other entertainment, including some excellent dining opportunities. While Glacier National Park is known for amazing glaciers, there are beautiful alpine meadows, pristine lakes, and dramatic glacier-carved valleys. Another highlight is the Going-to-the-Sun Road, completed in 1932, that crosses the park, east to west and is generally open from mid-June to mid-October.
