This is a handcrafted end grain butcher block cutting board made from American Black Walnut, Peruvian Walnut and Maple. The board has unique chevron design that emphasizes the richness of the Walnut and the brilliant wood grain patterns. No stains were used. This is the natural color of wood. After sanding it down to a buttery smooth feel, this board is saturated with Watco Butcher Block Oil and sealed with Howard Butcher Block Conditioner. A bottle of Howard Conditioner is included with the item. End grain boards are best for food preparation, as they last longer due to the orientation of the grain fibers, and are much easier on your knives over the long term. The cutting board is the work of Matthew Ward, a Veteran who served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
