Item Description
Duke’s Malibu, a beloved seaside restaurant hit hard by mudslides following the Palisades Fire, is planning a phased return this fall. The Barefoot Bar is slated to reopen in mid-November, with the full restaurant expected to resume operations before the year ends. There is no expiration date on this E-card, so show your support and wait to use it till then.
Duke's menus are known for a variety of items depending on the specific location, but popular items across different Duke's restaurants include Hawaiian-inspired seafood dishes like macadamia nut-crusted fish and poke tacos, ribs from Duke's Rib House, and burgers from places like Duke's Public House. Classic American and beach grill fare like fish tacos, burgers, and chowder are also frequently mentioned. The original Duke's in Waikiki is famous for its ahi tuna steak and Hula Pie.

"Duke's Restaurant" can refer to several different establishments, most notably a chain of waterfront restaurants in Hawaii and California that pay tribute to the "father of surfing," Duke Kahanamoku
Surfing legend Duke Kahanamoku taught surfing in Malibu and spent time in the area where he was a lifeguard, competed in water sports and also appeared in over 28 Hollywood movies. Duke’s Malibu honors Duke, but also pays tribute to the early days of surfing in Malibu.
