Item Description

Marthe Keller
Stiffy 1.6 (Grey & White)
Acrylic on unstretched canvas on panel
14" x 14"
2006

About Stiffy 1.6
I carry pieces of canvas and linen to work on while traveling imprinting them with the local colors and textures. Later I stiffen them and mount them on panels. A curator came into my studio and called the un-stretched paintings "stiffys". Their little stiffened threads are unexpectedly expressive like feelers.
