The way we perceive sights and moments in our lives that have an emotional impact on us can be translated into artistic expressions in countless ways. In this exhibition, artists portray the ways in which memories of what we have perceived form in our minds, oscillating between blurred and blotted shapes, and details in sharp focus.
This is the 7th exhibition mounted at OAG with art created by Creative Space artists. Creative Space is an ongoing program and part of a well-established partnership between the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre and OAG.
Art School Confidential celebrates five decades of Visual Arts at the University of Ottawa, representing the work of 50 artists who have taught and studied in the historic building located at 100 Laurier East since 1974.
How do we interact with the places we inhabit? Whether it be our homes, the wider community, or even our perceptions of self, this exhibition explores place as it exists through sensory experiences, between boundaries and memories, and across a set of ongoing, changing relationships.
The Firestone Collection of Canadian Art is a significant art collection that spans the modern period and includes work from a wide range of Canadian art styles, geographical regions, and periods. The two largest themes represented in the collection are landscape and abstraction.
Come to the Jackson Café to discover two large murals, featuring the digital artwork of Eric Chan (aka eepmon).
This piece is a digitization of a birch bark biting that has then been reproduced through risograph printing. The biting can be interpreted as chickadees flying around flowers.

Join artist Kelly Rendek in the ...OAG Studio for a free drop-in workshop that explores memories of home through the medium of collage. Linked to her installation The Practice of Home, currently on view, we will explore how different materials and colour theory can be used to share our ideas of home.

L’artiste Kelly Rendek vous invite au Studio de la GAO pour un atelier offert gratuitement. Venez explorer les souvenirs rattachés à la notion du foyer par le collage. En lien avec son installation The Practice of Home [La pratique du chez soi], présentée en ce moment, nous explorerons comment la théorie de couleur et les différents matériaux peuvent être utilisés pour partager nos idées sur ce qu’est le foyer.
The Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG), Giant Tiger @gianttigerstore and Kids Help Phone @kidshelpphone are collaborating for Pink Shirt Day 2025. Pink Shirt Day is celebrated every year on the last Wednesday of February to raise awareness about bullying. We are looking for youth ages 15-25 to produce a ...design for a t-shirt in a 2-part workshop series led by illustrator and comic book artist Andy Akangah @theakarts. All participants will have their work exhibited at OAG in 2025 but one design will be selected for a fundraising t-shirt in support of Kids Help Phone to be sold in all Giant Tiger locations for Pink Shirt Day 2025.

À la recherche de jeunes pour participer à un atelier de design de t-shirt de Tigre Géant
La Galerie d’art d’Ottawa (GAO), Tigre Géant et Jeunesse, J’écoute lancent une collaboration à l’occasion de la Journée du chandail rose 2025. Chaque année, la Journée du chandail rose est célébrée le dernier mercredi de février afin de sensibiliser les gens à l’intimidation. Nous sommes à la recherche de jeunes de 15 à 25 ans qui aimeraient concevoir un t-shirt dans le cadre d’une série de deux ateliers dirigés par l’illustrateur et créateur de bandes dessinées Andy Akangah. Les œuvres de chaque personne qui participe seront exposées à la GAO en 2025, mais un seul design sera sélectionné pour orner un t-shirt qui sera vendu dans tous les magasins Tigre Géant à l’occasion de la Journée du chandail rose 2025 en guise de collecte de fonds au profit de Jeunesse, J’écoute.
Ces ateliers s’adressent à toute personne créatrice de mode en herbe, illustratrice ou simplement créative ET qui souhaite faire cesser l’intimidation !
