Woodman Edmands, PA is pleased to announce a new attorney has joined our firm

Woodman Edmands, PA is pleased to announce that Isabel I. Mullin, Esq. has joined the firm. Isabel grew up in Cape Elizabeth where she attended the local public schools. In 2010, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in economics with a minor in political science from Denison University in Granville, Ohio.

Following graduation from college, Isabel joined Congresswoman Chellie Pingree’s staff.  Her work in Congresswoman Pingree’s office and at the Maine State House fueled an interest in policy and the law. Isabel then attended the University of Maine School of Law where she received numerous honors.  She served as a student attorney in the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic, and she was President of the Student Bar Association. Following law school and being admitted to the Maine Bar, she clerked in the York County Superior for Justices John H. O’Neil and now Associate Justice of the Maine Supreme Court Wayne Douglas.  Following her clerkship, Isabel then worked for a large Portland firm’s government relations practice, which led into her service as the chief of staff for the Maine Senate Majority Office during the 129th and 130th Maine State Legislatures.

Most recently, she spent a year and a half working at her family’s – one of the few remaining in the state – dairy farm. Isabel has a deep passion for Maine’s agricultural heritage. While she continues to farm and enjoy the Maine outdoors in her spare time, she has returned to the practice of law, joining Woodman Edmands in 2024.  Isabel will serve clients in the areas of general civil litigation, municipal and land use law and criminal defense.

Harry B. Center, II, Esq. City Solicitor for Biddeford, Maine

On December 19, 2023, at the first regular Council meeting held by new Mayor Marty Grohman and the Biddeford City Council, Managing Partner Harry B. Center, II, Esq. was nominated by Mayor Grohman to serve as the City’s Solicitor.  Immediately following the nomination, the City Council unanimously approved Attorney Center for a two year term.  As City Solicitor, Harry and other members of the firm will handle the majority of the City’s legal matters, including Harry’s attendance at all regular City Council meetings.  In 1992, former Biddeford Mayor, the late Roger Normand, appointed Harry as a then, 29 year old associate, at a former Saco law firm as City Solicitor.  He went on to serve in that capacity under 3 subsequent Mayors, resigning in June 2004 to accept a position as Senior Trial Attorney at the former One Beacon Insurance Company.  At that time, now retired Attorney Keith Jacques was also a partner at the former Saco law firm and he took over as City Solicitor from Harry, serving until his retirement from the practice of law.  Attorneys Center and Jacques joined Woodman Edmands in 2008 and 2010 respectively, and upon his move to Woodman Edmands in 2010, Keith continued to serve as City Solicitor.  Keith served under 3 Mayors.  Recently retired Mayor Alan Casavant appointed Harry to fill Keith’s term in April 2022, upon Keith’s retirement from the practice of law.  Harry and the firm look forward to working with Mayor Grohman and the other City Officials.
