Compounded medication is injected - just not with an auto injector. It is not a pill. Insurance rejects it because the cost is so high ( a manufacturing issue) and because they can. But there should be no stigma against using a medication that prevents diabetes and also has been shown to provide cardiac protection in people who are insulin resistant and women with PCOS etc . The blame for a shortage shouldn't be on people ( legitimately - not to lose 10 pounds ) using it but on the pharmaceut
