Allison Lacasse is the Band Director at Belmont High School in Belmont, Massachusetts. She is an educator who devotes her work to the service of her students. She firmly believes that every person deserves a welcoming and safe place to create, express, and perform music in school and beyond. Her students know her as a warm demander; a teacher who insists on taking care of one another as human beings and artists. Allison actively works to connect with her students to form meaningful relationships that nurture the musicians and the music itself.

 

Allison is proud to serve as the Honor Band Chairperson for the Western International Band Clinic (WIBC) in Seattle, Washington and as operational staff for the American Band College (ABC) in Ashland, Oregon. At the New England Conservatory Preparatory School, Allison serves as the Assistant Conductor of the three bands that encompass the Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble program. Allison is serving as Chairperson for the Northeastern District of the Massachusetts Music Educators Association. Allison is the Artistic Director of the URI Summer Music Academy Band Camp. Allison serves as Secretary for the Servant Leadership Association for Music (SLAM).

 

Allison received a B.M. in Music Education and Performance from the University of Rhode Island. Allison earned a M.M. degree in Music Education from the American Band College of Central Washington University. Allison was a semifinalist for the 2017 Massachusetts Teacher of the Year and earned the Massachusetts Music Educators Association Advocacy Award in 2018.
