Today, the breakfast burrito was SUPERIOR!!
I couldn't believe the amount of bacon!!!! It was about two strips chopped up and so flavorful!!!

Oh no 0Apr 21, 2017Previous reviewI find it very disturbing that an employee has decided to talk to my family members about my review, very unprofessional. My reviews are honest about this place. I still think they have great coffee, I just won't spend my money here any longer.
If I get a large cup of coffee and it's filled with A HALF cup of whipped cream, for five bucks, yeah, I'm mad. I write honest reviews, most are good, some are not. It's part of the consumer having a say.
If you want great tasting coffee, this is the place to go, or go to the one in Ignacio where everyone smiles and is cheerful! :)Nov 26, 2015Previous reviewAs a long time customer, I have to point out (although I have a new car now) that when their coffee cups were falling apart, and the coffee spilled ALL over my cars seat, my leg, and carpet of the vehicle, numerous messages left for the owner; Tim went unanswered. To this day, he's never once apologized or acknowledged what happened.
Also, some of the staff needs to be more cheerful and smile, engage with customers.
There's no consistency lately with the temperature of the coffee; and yesterday, I ordered a large white mocha with a pump of caramel - was charged extra (which is silly) and as I went to take a sip, I had to tip the cup half way before I could get to the coffee - it was half filled with whipped cream; for five bucks. The white mocha is what I always get, they know me, and know what I like. When it comes to the best barista, hands down, a tie between Claudia, Jorge and Christina. Everyone else seems to be missing their special touch.
I came here to update a review, and realized that, I've never reviewed Marin Coffee Roasters, which is unfortunate, because I thought I'd written a five star review in the past, who knows, maybe it's hidden, or it was back when they were The Daily Grind.
I'm knocking a star off because of four recent issues with the bottoms falling out of cups. Only once was I able to go right back and get a replacement, but, I have a huge coffee stain on my seat now (my car was detailed inside and out by Matt & Jeff's via Novato Toyota in December) and the other times, I was already out of town, so I couldn't go back. This has happened four times in less than a month.
While it's not the owners fault, or his employee's fault, they're all VERY aware of the problem, and should either STOP selling large coffees or, double cup them all until they change coffee cup manufacturers, and Tim should also ask the cup company to reimburse him for the loss of cups and likely some business.
The past two times I've gone in, I brought a smaller cup from home to use, but, I didn't get a discount, as a matter of fact, they charged me for a large (20 oz) when in fact the cup is a (16 oz).
I LOVE their coffee, and all but one of the staff are courteous, smiling and personable.
When the cup situation is rectified, and my car seat gets cleaned, I'll change my review to five stars!
I mean, why go to Peets or Starbucks when you can support a local family owned business??? The only thing truly "missing" would be a few little benches or tables to sit at for those who walk up.
GREAT place, great staff, best coffee in Marin! THE BEST, in my book!
PS Try the Chorizo breakfast burrito!!! Soooooo good!
Jane A.San Rafael, CA335Apr 10, 2024Good food, poor service... almost every time. The staff seems to spend more time chatting with each other than waiting on customers. I've come in a few times and there was no one behind the register to help me at all. I waited and waited and ended up leaving.

Solid drive-through spot to grab a coffee- staff is friendly and the service is always fast. Especially nice on a hot day

Honestly, I'm such a coffee snob. I used to be a barista at La Boulange bakery years ago. I am the person that loves to get coffee from hidden gems whenever I travel. Anything but Pete's and/or Starbucks, although I do like some of their coffees.
This place is amazing! I first discovered Marin coffee roasters in San Anselmo. When I started going to the drive-through in Novato, Claire and Amaya were the sweetest duo! I had my dog with me, who is very cute I must say, and they were over the moon to meet her. They gave her love and treats, She was in heaven.
I feel like making coffee is an art. And it's very easy to mess it up. I know I'm picky, but these girls always make my drink on point! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Coffee is good. Folks behind the counter are nice. I bought coffee and food and sat down to do some work but couldn't because the wifi is terrible. It blocks the majority of sites. The Marin Coffee Roasters in San Anselmo does the same thing. So disappointing. I would happily spend money here but I won't be back.

Four other cars that pulled up after me were served and no one came to take my order. After 10 minutes I said something. The guy asked me to hold on and then came out out and said bye. I was not rude. He was. I will never go back.

It's nice to be greeted with a beautiful smile and warm conversation when you're about ready to start your day before that first cuppa coffee. Coffee was very delicious vanilla latte my favorite!
