There is nowhere else where you can visit an Indian restaurant, a Kosher bakery, and a Muslim bookstore all within a few blocks. If you live here, you know how great it is. A beautiful new mural project is now on display in the Republic Bank parking lot at 2720 W. Devon. The murals were developed by the community through a process led by Mandala Arts and artist Indira Freitas Johnson. They are meant to reflect the diverse voices and vision of the neighborhood. It was an honor to invite the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center to City Hall today to share their world-renowned VR films with the Chicago City Council and Mayor Brandon Johnson. Dozens of city officials and guests joined us to learn about the Holocaust and help preserve the stories of Survivors.
