Check-In was less friendly and helpful than expected; Room amenities weren't as good as Pacific Rim (particularly no drinking water, no electrical outlets at the desk)
Check-in at the hotel was fine. My room, on the first night, smelled like there was humidity in there when I got in. Had to open the window to make the room smell fresh. Had coffee in my room the next morning, but the coffee mate had expired and it was all clumpy in my coffee so I did not drink it. Went down to get a coffee at the coffee shop and there was a big line with only 1 employee. Had lunch at the hotel-very limited options (3 options to be exact). Was expecting a bit more considering the type of hotel. The second night, we were hosting an event in the penthouse suite. The elevator was not working and so, all of our guests had to use the back-end stairs which really was not ideal. We got compensated for this. That same night, we asked for a bottle opener and after looking everywhere, we called the front desk to get one. The person on the phone ARGUED with us that it was there and we were not looking at the right place. After reconfirming twice that it was not in the kitchen, they sent one over. The next morning, there was coffee in the kitchen but no milk/coffee mate at all. Overall the stay was ok but definitely expecting more when you pay for this type of hotel quality. Check-out was ok. But I was not asked how my stay was.
Marcus may remember being our guest for lunch at the Pacific Union Club on the patio soon after he arrived from Seattle. We have had a house account at The Fairmont for more than 40 years and always recommend it to our out-of-town visitors. As San Francisco recovers we hope the Fairmont is seeing increased business. A great hotel. Steve and Nancy F.

Mackrell conference. Wonderful views from rooms. Conference rooms were beautiful. A/V was good.
My experience at the Fairmont was very good. However, an unexpected visitor changed that dynamic quickly. When I came downstairs I was not greeted by the doorman. I was leaving from The Fairmont to the airport for an international departure to China. There were no cabs and the concierge service told me to go to the corner. Then I was told by Fairmont staff I should have booked my ride the evening before because streets were closed because President Biden was in town. It would have been helpful to know this since there were no rides available! I was successful in getting a ride with another guest, but it was only because of my resourcefulness! In addition, I think the breakfast was included, but the price indicated otherwise. Very expensive stay.

I needed to stay in town during a conference and was only in the city for the night. I checked in very late in the evening and was pleasantly surprised with an upgrade. The room was absolutely lovely with stunning views of the city. Comfy bed and my favorite bath products are carried. All the staff I encountered were very nice. Looking forward to my next visit.
I don’t know why I’m filling this out when I’ve asked to speak to two managers and nobody would come out to speak with my wife and I. Terrible service
The rooms were lovely and clean with a spacious bathroom. The lotion bottle was empty. We had a morning flight and scheduled to leave the hotel at 9:30. We went to breakfast at 8:15 and was told we had to wait for a seat even though there were many open tables(only 3 servers!). After a 10 min wait we waited another 15 just to get a server to bring us coffee, after we had asked 2 times. The kitchen was backed up 30 minutes so we waited over 35 mi for our food. Needless to say we ate fast! The server said "only 3 were scheduled". Then the line for checkout was over 8 people deep! If you claim to be a 5 star, you need to have the service!
