"Places We Call Home"
Home.
The fields have been a constant backdrop to not only my story, but my mother and grandmother’s as well. The long grass, open skies, dappled treelines, and the very dirt of our fields have played a significant soundtrack to generations of my family. Observed and captured over a variety of hours, months, and seasons, these paintings pay homage to the essence of the people and places that make a home. The fields have always represented warmth of memory and deep familial ties which I wanted to capture through dreamlike brushstrokes, layered textures, and a peaceful process of plein air and studio painting. Thank you for letting me share this deeply meaningful work with you. I now invite you to take a moment to pause and fondly recall the people and places that you have called “home” in your own life.
