It was an honor to invite the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center to City Hall today to share their world-renowned VR films with the Chicago City Council and Mayor Brandon Johnson. Dozens of city officials and guests joined us to learn about the Holocaust and help preserve the stories of Survivors.
It was a privilege to hear Survivors Rodi Glass, Doris Fogel, and Marion Deichmann tell their stories in their own words. I am very upset to report that antisemitic flyers were dropped on windshields and lawns in the 50th Ward overnight on Sherwin Ave. The flyers were hateful, vile, and absolutely disgusting. I have already spoken with the police commander and this investigation is being treated very seriously. If a flyer was placed on your property, please do NOT throw it out.
