I am a writer at heart who has been able to incorporate writing into my career as a successful fundraiser and marketing professional. My portfolio includes writing grants, fiction, trade articles, sales and marketing materials, ad copy, and more. I am also blogger (BrightLightLiving.com). With 30-years experience working in the industries of advertising, healthcare, technology, and education, I can easily translate technical information into layman’s language and write compelling copy that maintains the voice, integrity, and values of the client.

​My Love for Writing at an Early Age

When I was eleven or twelve, my mother would commission me for my writing. She would pay me a dollar for every poem or motivational tidbit that she could use in her sales newsletter. Armed with my portfolio, I would proudly but nervously present my work, sitting anxiously as my mother perused them.  “I’ll take this one, and, hmmm, this one,” she would say. Adding, “I’m not just going to take anything. It has to be good enough for my newsletter.”

And true to her word, there were times when I walked away empty-handed, only to be encouraged to “Keep at it.”​ That was some of the best advice that I’ve ever been given . . . I encourage all writers to KEEP AT IT.

Great Thoughts

A woman with great thoughts,
