Went to Lenox Hill Dental (Dr Allison Sherman) because my previous dentist didn't take my new dental insurance. It was a terrible experience. First, the dental hygienist did a terrible job - didn't even reach my back teeth. She also started telling me that she saw several cavities and fillings that needed to be replaced. Second, the dentist looked very briefly in my mouth, then echoed what the hygienist said (she even said she agreed with the hygienist's assessment). She barely looked around my mouth and didn't check any of my teeth/gums in detail.

After seeing the previous 2-3 people leave before me all claiming they were told they had cavities I got suspicious. A few weeks later I went back to my previous dentist to get a second opinion and guess what - no cavities and all my fillings were good!

Don't go here!!

Lenox Hill Dental is absolutely the best dental experience I have ever had. Everyone is super attentive and warm. Dr Starik is magical!
Stop going to your current dentist and make an immediate appointment to give Dr Starik and the staff a visit. You will not regret it.

I have been coming to the clinic for my dental treatments for over 4 years. I am very happy with the results, The staff is always helpful and professional. I highly recommend Dr. Starik for her dental services.

I had porcelain caps placed on three of my teeth. They bled and were painful for weeks after the procedure.

I went to my trusted dentist out on Long Island. 2/3 teeth needed root canals due to improper sealing (cracks are left behind) and she did not remove all the decay in the teeth. The third might need a root canal as well.

I did not have the best experience at this office. The cleaning was rough and left my mouth in pain for days, which has never happened to me before. I scheduled an appointment to to have four fillings done and unfortunately that was also an extremely painful experience. Dr. Starik was unable to numb my bottom jaw properly the first time and had to try a second time (which was extremely painful). Unfortunately, even after she effectively numbed my mouth and completed my fillings, I could not bite down on my teeth for approximately a month without extreme pain.

After this experience I did not want to return, but I eventually went back in to see what the problem was with my fillings. Dr. Starik tried to identify and fix the issue with the filling, but to no avail. I still had pain after the second appointment and could not chew properly. Dr. Starik suggested that I give it a month to feel better. I went back to Dr. Starik approximately a month later and she had to pull out my filling and re-do it because it was not done properly the first two times. The good news is that after the third visit, I can finally chew.

Everyone at this office is very pleasant and I very much appreciate that, but after so many issues with my fillings I wouldn't recommend it.

I met both Dr.Starik and Dr.Ares and they are both great. They take time to explain everything they do before they do it and are just pleasant all around. I have very sensitive teeth and hate pain, but when I go there they have patience and give me all the time and Novocain I need to feel comfortable.

Although a couple of times I had a bit of a wait, the majority of the times I am seen right away. The office is clearly run in a very efficient way.

I've tried a few different dentists around the city and so happy I finally found Dr. Starik - it helps the office is only a few blocks from me but even if I move in the future I hope to stay with her. It's been especially hard to find an office that takes some insurances but also provides top notch care so I feel very lucky I finally found this one.

Dr. Starik is very nice and takes her time to explain everything. I don't fear the pain and drilling and whatnot most patients do, it's more the technicality and what treatments they recommend and if it's for the right reasons. She did not rush me through and was even hesitated to take another x-ray if my insurance wouldn't cover it since another dentist already did and billed as she didn't want me to have to pay out of pocket.

She's incredibly precise in her procedures - for example, she wouldn't let me leave until she and I were completely satisfied with my bite after two large fillings. In addition, in terms of a crown impression she took 3 in case there was a problem with the initial one. I have a lot going on in my mouth (granted, probably my bad) and she's an excellent primary physician to have and correspond with other specialists.

Her front desk is very sweet. So far, I've always been taken on time.

Growing up in an immigrant family, I was not educated about good dental care and was never brought to the dentist when I was young. As a result, my teeth as an adult are quite bad but now that I have good health insurance I went to Dr. Starik based on her Yelp reviews.

Dr. Starik and her staff are excellent and very supportive. They did not make me feel ashamed of the work I needed to get done but instead made me feel comfortable and were great at educating me about my options. My appointment always started on time or even early if I was there early, and I loved the Dr. Starik talked me through what to expect so I wasn't fearful. Now my mouth is healthy for the first time in decades, and I was given great and detailed information about keeping it healthy for the future. I also grateful for Dr. Starik and this practice!

I've been going to Lenox Hill Dental for at least three years! I'm so happy to have found them in the city. I normally put off dentist cleanings and wasn't going normally until I found Dr. Starik and her staff! They are absolutely amazing!

The cleanings and fillings are always done with the gentlest touch. I did not need any fillings during this visit, but have gotten several in the past. If I need more numbing or feel pain they always stop to address the issue. I've never had any issues with any of my fillings or with tooth pain after visiting.

They always address my concerns and give fantastic tips to help me keep my teeth healthy. This is really important to me who has never had great teeth. All of the staff I've met have always been accommodating and pleasant to deal with! The hours available are also great for someone who is always busy. I usually come in on time and get seen right away. Overall, a fantastic dentist and I hope to be a patient for a very long time.

This is absolutely the best dental practice I've had in NYC. The staff is relaxed, knowledgeable and friendly. The facility is clean, well maintained, and modern. I've never had any issues with scheduling, and they have automated services to remind you of your appointments through text message. Dr. Starik also took care of my cavities, which was a fast, relatively simple procedure. The staff is very capable of dealing with insurance and, regardless have a really affordable rate if you don't have insurance ($125 a cleaning, they've told me). I have tried several dentists since visiting the city, but I now have no need to find a new one. This is my favorite. They make going to the dentist a pleasure.
