Discover the Island of the Sharks

Cocos Island—think big

Cocos Island delivers some of the most spectacular diving on the planet. Here, pristine waters take you directly to the largest hammerhead schools in the world.

Undersea Hunter welcomes you to the realm of large pelagic fish, where the ocean explodes with life. Inhabitants include 12 shark species, several kinds of rays and sea turtles, and clouds of jacks large enough to block out the sun.

A Costa Rican national park and UNESCO World Heritage Site, Cocos Island remains one of the most exclusive and remote diving destinations on Earth.

Our vessels

Argo

Our newest vessel, the Argo, sets the gold standard for liveaboard dive boats. She is the perfect blend of work ship and luxury yacht, exactingly configured into a dive expedition cruiser and a filmmaker’s dream. The 130-ft Argo is also the mothership for our state of the art submersible — the DeepSee.

Sea Hunter

A superbly stable and robust craft, the 115-ft Sea Hunter is the physical manifestation of decades of operational know-how. This vessel boasts a huge dive deck, ample living space and generous camera tables. Sea Hunter effortlessly combines the functionality and powerful engineering of a workboat, with the comfortable and relaxing interior of a modern yacht.

DeepSee

DeepSee represents adventure at its finest. Journey to the edge of light aboard a custom-built one-atmosphere submarine designed to carry a pilot and two passengers to a depth of 1,500 feet (450 meters). The 360° view from DeepSee’s acrylic sphere is truly astonishing.

No Blue, No Green –
Dr. Sylvia Earle

The Undersea Hunter Group is unique, largely because of the ethic and good spirit among those involved, from the owners, sub pilots and other crew to the guests who quickly adapt to being, treated as friends and allies in the shared goal of exploring and caring for the sea. Aboard the Argo, everyone is or becomes an explorer!” — Dr. Sylvia Earle, Mission Blue

  • Argo Testimonial

“Most remarkable diving of my life! The hammerheads are so beautiful to watch and the variety of sea life is breathtaking.” -- David W, [Argo, April 6-16 2021]

  • Sea Hunter Testimonial

“Of the liveaboards I have been on, this is outfitted among the best -- with the twin engine skiffs and accommodations for all types of divers...We saw many many hammerheads at Dirty Rock, along with a galapagos, silver tip and a couple of dolphins. Even the shallow dives were great at Manuelita with frog fish, many marble rays and white tips. I really enjoyed the excursions to the island, hiking through the rainforest and a visit to one of the many waterfalls. The staff was awesome.” --Jason Astrup [Sea Hunter, June 15-25, 2021]

  • DeepSee Testimonial

I had one of the best dives of my life in dirty rock. We saw dolphins for a full 15 min at the surface. Once in a lifetime experience! -- Mariano Castro, [Argo, July 7-17, 2021]
