At its April 17, 2024, meeting, the South Suburban Board of Directors voted unanimously to create the process below of filling one vacant position, due to the resignation of Pye. The selected candidate will fill the remainder of her term (2025).
South Suburban was named a finalist for the 2024 National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management on May 2, by the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration, in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association.
