Autism Resource Mom is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving more than 1,200 families in the five-county Southern California area. We provide support, guidance and hope to individuals on the spectrum and their loved ones, through a variety of informative, topical workshops and problem-solving discussion groups for parents—plus confidence-building social events and independent living skills activities to help prepare teens and young adults for a successful life on their own. She quit her job in corporate America to dedicate her life to learning, understanding and eventually sharing the most effective ways to nurture, protect and prepare a young person with autism, as only a mother can do. Learn how the mom behind Autism Resource Mom rallied parents, caregivers and individuals with autism to create an organization led, not by white-lab-coated medical experts, but by in-the-trenches parents who have raised and lived with a child on the spectrum. Read on.

ARM's activities for individuals on the spectrum aren't frivolous playdates. They're engaging, accepting, judgment-free events specially designed and implemented by parents to encourage those on the spectrum to leave the seclusion of their home, put aside the video games and practice the kind of social skills that will serve as a model for their personal and workplace relationships in the years ahead.
Meanwhile, ARM workshops for parents give practical advice for raising a young person with autism, while offering knowledgeable, compassionate support that says, clearly; "You're not alone." Explore our programs here.
For a donation of just a dollar a week—$52 a year—ARM offers an individual with autism (and his or her family) an opportunity to break free of isolation and rejection to encounter a new world of friendship-building activities and skill-fostering workshops—all in a relaxed, inclusive, non-judgmental atmosphere.
