Do I need professional headshots?

If you found yourself here, then yes, you need headshots. Professional headshots are not just for actors and musicians anymore. We meet each other online now before in person, so you need great professional photos of yourself to give that perfect first impression. Lawyer headshots, doctor headshots, consultant headshots, realtor headshots, business headshots, even ERAS headshots for medical residency applications: we ALL need that perfect personal branding photo.

FAQs

As many as it takes! We keep snapping until you and the photographer are both confident that there are plenty of quality photographs to choose from. We average about 50-100 photos in a one look session.
In our parking lot! There’s a free parking lot in front of our building, and if it’s full there should be plenty of free street parking within a block radius of the building. If you can’t find something, call us when you get here and we’ll help!
After your headshot session, we will email you an online gallery to view and download all your photos, typically within 2-4 business days. If you need it faster, we do have rush fees for a same day turnaround.
Great question! Headshots are a type of portrait. They’re usually a more straight-forward image; but lately they’ve been evolving to be less “ID badge photo” and more “editorial portrait.” Read more about the difference between headshots and portraits here.

We do our best to “shoot not to edit” so all your photos are ready to use! But if you want to do some tweaking afterward (and 9 out of 10 of us do), you can purchase retouching. Here’s a link to our different retouching options and some examples, and you can always give us requests or make changes after you see our edits.
Bring some options and check out our tips page for some advice and ideas. We’ll help you choose an outfit when you get here, so bring as many as you’d like. There’s no such thing as bringing too many outfits; we’ve seen a lot of suitcases and love going through everyones’ wardrobes. Here’s a link with a TON of tips!
Heck yeah we will! Don’t worry about feeling awkward– we won’t just plop you in front of a camera and tell you to say “cheese.” We’ll coach you into lots of different smiles and poses so you have plenty of options to choose from.
It’s totally natural to be nervous for your photo session or to be worried that you won’t like them. We’ve all seen lousy photos of ourselves and dread that this next photo is going to be another reject. We’ll show you the photos as we take them so we can work together to make sure you love them and won’t let you leave until you’re confident we got a great shot.
