WHO WE ARE

Chris Blair worked at Moore’s Electric throughout high school as part of their summer apprentice program. His love of electrical came from that time working with Moore’s. He graduated in 1998 from Gretna High School and attended the Pittsylvania County Technical Center (as it was called then) to complete a program with one of his biggest mentors, Mr. Jim Pollard. He took two years of electrical programming and completed the program as one of the top students in the class. After graduation, he went to work full-time with Moore’s Electric. Chris admired Mr. Dale Moore and what he had accomplished.  That success challenged him to venture out in the same path as Mr. Moore had.

Thus CRB Electric, INC was “born” and founded in May 2005. CRB simply stands for Chris' initials. He started off with just himself and one guy (Lucas Scearce) with one truck. Chris and his wife lived in a single wide trailer and had a metal carport to one side. They enclosed the carport to use as the CRB “shop.” The goal they had for CRB was to have 10 GREAT guys and to solely do industrial work.

After almost a year our second employee came on board. From that point, CRB Electric has grown from to as many as 76 employees. Chris has always given credit to ABB, Inc. for believing in him and giving him his first major contract. That one decision ABB made has opened up a world of doors for CRB. To this day, the relationship that ABB and CRB have developed through the years is ongoing and we anticipate it will continue into the future.

In the summer of 2007, CRB was asked and given the opportunity to start a traveling security team. In September of 2007, CRB became DCJS (Dept of Criminal Services) certified. We currently travel to all parts of Virginia installing or servicing security cameras, access controls, and CCTV systems.

With the economy slowing down in 2009, Chris decided to branch out into commercial electrical work. CRB’s industrial reputation allowed this transaction to happen rather smoothly. We now have relationships with several general contractors throughout Virginia & North Carolina. As of today, half of our work is on the commercial side.

From the time that Chris started the commercial side of CRB, he had thoughts about adding a mechanical side to the business to offer his customers a “package” deal and save them money. In April of 2013 this became a reality when he started A&A Mechanical to complement CRB in the mechanical line of the business as well as a machine fabrication shop. A&A stands for Avery & Ashton (the Blairs two daughters).

In 2014 CRB Electric changed its name to CRB Electrical & Mechanical, INC.

CRB Electrical & Mechanical, INC would like to thank each and every one of our customers for allowing us the opportunity to provide electrical & mechanical services for them. CRB realizes that without them as well as our great employees we would not have grown into the company we are today.
