I believe making connections in the community is the most important investment we've made. Working together with our partners has provided a lens into what our schools and neighborhoods really need and is helping us break down barriers and drive progress.

Student Leaders

Since 2004, our Student Leaders® program has helped prepare high school students for the workforce by connecting them to skills development and leadership training. Through paid internships with local nonprofits like Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire and One Sky Community Services, they gain practical work and life experiences. It's just one more way we're working to build a better future for all.

Hear from Kenneth Sheldon, President of Bank of America New Hampshire, about our role in keeping New Hampshire moving forward.

Let’s build something together

Here in New Hampshire, we've continued to provide consistent support for nonprofits and delivered even more during the health crisis. We helped distribute millions of masks, hand sanitizers, and gloves while keeping most of our financial centers open. As part of Bank of America’s broader jobs initiative, we're funding programs in our minority communities that help break the cycle of poverty by providing access to career pipelines in banking and teaching. Other programs support immigrants by offering job-skills resources, help with resume building, and teaching English as a second language. Alongside private sector and nonprofit partners, we've identified and supplied in-need K-12 students with 500 computers—loaded with software—and continue to expand the reach. We’re also funding programs that help teachers get accredited at the college level so they can offer classes that enable high school students to earn credits toward higher education.

Providing opportunity for Manchester business owners

The New Hampshire Community Loan Fund, one of the first Community Development Financial Institutions in the nation, helps drive economic mobility and strengthen their community by providing lending and technical assistance to businesses owned by people of color. In partnership with the Manchester NAACP, the Community Loan Fund launched the Community-Driven Economic Empowerment pilot program to bring people of color together as a community to create a more resilient local economy in which more of their businesses thrive.

Lowering the cost of higher education

With Running Start, an innovative partnership between local high schools and the Community College System of New Hampshire (CCSNH), students who thought a college education would be too expensive now have a means to achieve their ambitions. Courses taught by high school teachers with college-level teaching credentials are provided at a fraction of the cost of traditional college courses—and some are even free.

Being a great place to work has its rewards. And awards.

Because of our investments in industry-leading programs and resources, and our commitment to helping teammates achieve their personal and professional goals, we were awarded the Grand Stevie Award for Organization of the Year. *

* The Stevie Awards recognize the achievements of businesses and professionals worldwide. Organizations self-nominate, providing data for various categories, and winners are determined by the average scores of more than 240 professionals worldwide serving as judges.

** For the annual Rankings, JUST Capital collects and analyzes corporate data to evaluate the 1,000 largest public U.S. companies across 20 issues identified through comprehensive, ongoing public opinion research on Americans' attitudes toward responsible corporate behavior. In determining the top 10 companies for workers, JUST Capital used its Workers Leaders Index which tracks the top 20% of companies in its annual Rankings that perform the best across the five worker related issues evaluated. https://justcapital.com
