A native of Tokyo, Japan, Dr. Mamiko Kuriya fulfilled her lifelong ambition of pursuing pediatric dentistry by moving to the United States in 2003. With a master's degree in pediatric dentistry, she founded Ballard Pediatric Dentistry, and has since become a well-known and respected practitioner, with accolades and community engagement that make her an ideal fit for meeting the needs of the Seattle area. Our mission is to develop a lifetime goal of optimum oral health within our patients and their families by creating a dental home for them. We believe in always approaching children in a positive attitude and providing care for them with compassion and respect. Our dental home provides education, prevention of dental disease, and positive and safe dental experiences for children as they grow from infants through their teenage years.
Why Pediatric Dentistry
Pediatric dentists are the pediatricians of dentistry. A pediatric dentist had two year to three years speciality training following dental school and limits his/her practice to treating children only. Pediatric dentists are primary and specialty oral care providers for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health needs.
