Nestled on a wide stretch of sandy beach, Back on the Beach Café offers appetizing meals featuring local and seasonal cuisine with breathtaking views of ocean, mountain, pier, and Catalina Island. Generations of Angelinos have been coming to our landmark restaurant since 1989. Both indoor & outdoor seating is available along with extensive catering services and event planning. Come and enjoy the beach with us!
Reservation Policy: We take reservations for groups of 6 or more people, and for indoor tables only. Outdoor tables are not reservable. Reservations are only taken in person or by telephone. Email reservation requests must be verbally confirmed.

Dogs: Santa Monica prohibits dogs on the beach. Additionally, the Annenberg Community Beach House site, which we are a part of, prohibits dogs, therefore dogs are not allowed in our outdoor dining areas. Service animals excepted.

Reservations are primarily taken online through OpenTable. Please do not email reservation requests. Reservations are accepted at least one day in advance. We do not take same-day reservations. Because only 25% of our tables are reservable, it is recommended that you reserve several days in advance, especially for a weekend table. We seat only complete parties. Our largest tables seat approximately 12 guests. We do not take multi table reservations. We do not take reservations for more than 12 guests
Dogs: Santa Monica prohibits dogs on the beach. Additionally, the Annenberg Community Beach House site, which we are a part of, prohibits dogs, therefore pets are not allowed in our outdoor dining areas. Service animals excepted (as defined by the ADA). Sorry, not pets!
