Education Bryon joined Smith, Watson & Company, LLP in August of 1998 as a Senior Accountant. He returned to the Berkshires from Boston where he worked for area CPA firms after graduating college. He specializes in auditing, financial reporting, corporate and individual taxes. Bryon is an avid sports enthusiast and in his free time he shares that enthusiasm by volunteering at Pittsfield West Little League as well as coaching Boys and Girls Club and Catholic Youth Center basketball and with the Pittsfield Soccer Club. He is Past President of the North Adams Rotary Club and is an active member of the Board of Directors with the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Pittsfield Little Leagues, Hoosic River Revival, Catholic Youth Center and Pittsfield Boys and Girls Club. Education Colin joined the firm in 1997 after several years in the design and construction industries. He concentrates his practice in the areas of individual and corporate tax and financial reporting. Colin is responsible for providing financial statements, business projections and business valuation services to the firm's closely held business clients. His wide range of experience in business and individual tax law makes him an asset to the firm's tax group. As one of the firm's technology experts, Colin is also responsible for overseeing the Information Technology services to clients. Active in the community, Colin is a current member of the finance committee for the Town of Sheffield, a member of the Board of Directors of the Coolidge Hill Foundation and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Southern Berkshire Chamber of Commerce. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Children's Health Program/Community Health Center of the Berkshires. He is a 1999 graduate of the Berkshire Leadership Program. Jeffrey D. Jeff joined Smith, Watson, Company, LLP in July of 2019. Prior to joining Smith Watson, Jeff spent the prior decade at a large, regionally based, public accounting firm in Denver, Colorado where he was a partner in the firm’s tax practice. Prior to Denver, Jeff worked in public accounting in Boston. His practice is primarily focused on working with individuals, their families, and related businesses and holding companies. Specializing in tax, he offers clients extensive experience and insight related to complex individual tax compliance and strategy, financial and philanthropic planning, and trust and estate design. Passionate about the Berkshires, Jeff is active in the community serving on the board of directors of the Berkshire Natural Resources Council and the Berkshire Family YMCA. He is a past board member of the Denver Area Council – Boy Scouts of America, the Economic Club of Colorado, the Colorado Philanthropic Advisors Network, and the Denver Estate Planning Council.

Karen joined Smith, Watson & Company, LLP in November 2021 after a merger of her former firm Karen M Kowalczyk PC. Karen started her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, in Hartford CT in 1990. She returned to the Berkshires, where she grew up, in 1991 and has worked in various public accounting firms as both an associate, and as an owner, for the last 30 years. Karen’s primary areas of concentration include income tax planning and preparation for individuals, trusts, estates, and business entities, and management advisory and business consulting services. Karen is a member of the Board of Directors of the Pittsfield Cooperative Bank and is chair of the Audit Committee. She is a Trustee at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and chair of the Fiscal Affairs Committee. Karen graduated in the Fall of 2016 from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program through Babson College, and she is a 2002 graduate of the Berkshire Leadership Program.
