Kerry Mitchell aka Lone Eagle opened his first store in 1971 in Laguna Beach, California creating authentic Native American and mountain man dress and motorcycle accessories. Since then he and his family have owned stores in Carmel, Big Sur, Sedona and most recently the Native Riders store in Sebastopol, California. As of current, Lone Eagle has returned to his roots and has been on tour at trade shows and festivals such as Burning Spear, The Kate wolf Memorial festival, Monterey Reggae fest and Gaia Fest. Kerrys family heritage is Comanche and he has had a lifelong interest in Native American arts. Inspired by his late father, he has been creating leather design since he was 8 years old. In the 1970s he learned leather tooling with world renowned leather worker and saddle maker, Buck Purnell of Burbank Studios which helped launched his career as a leather and feather artist

His original creations and displays have won over 100 awards for display, art, costuming and leather crafting. Kerry specializes in designs for horse shows, parades, pow wows and festivals. His costumes and props have appeared in movies (Dances With Wolves, Grey Eagle, Young Guns 1 & 2, Silverado, Windwalker, Young Riders) and in the theatrical production of Little Mary Sunshine. His works are also in the private collections of many celebrities such as Clint Eastwood, Cher, David Carradine, Ann Margret, Tom Smothers, Smokey Robinson, Alice Cooper, the San Francisco Giants, Crystal Gayle, Kim Novak, Patricia Arquette, Princess Christina of Belgium, Mark Gastineau, Ohio Players, Alan Funt, Bridget Nielsen, Karen Valentine, Jim Weir of The Grateful Dead, Jack Jacobsen of Huey Lewis, and Glen Campbell to name just a few. He is also an eleven time winner in costuming at the Grand National Rodeo.

Lone Eagle has been making medicinal and ceremonial peace pipes for over 30 years. In the 1990s he created the worlds largest working peace pipe. Kerry resides in Sonoma County where he continues his craft, retail operation, and participates in local and national trade shows and other events. His work shop stocks his own custom leather motorcycle apparel and accessories and other designs which display a unique Native American style. All of his creations are patterned, cut, laced and ornamented by hand with no machine work. They are made with deer and buffalo hide, feathers, beads, bones, antler, wood, silver, turquoise, semi-precious stones, dyes and paints.
