And, plan to come to Mardi Gras on March 8th. Purchase your tickets in advance (tickets start at $50) or come that evening-- Tuesday March 8th, Festivities including great food and the Funky Butt Jazz Band begin at 5:15 at the downtown Ives Main Library, 133 Elm Street, across from the New Haven Green. And, there will be plenty of free parking.

The Patrons organization is dedicated to raising funds from the private sector through individuals, the corporate/business community and foundations to strengthen and promote Library services in the community and neighborhoods by expanding the utilization of the Library by:
-Raising funds to ensure that the public library has the resources necessary for programs and services that support and enrich the library system;
-Promoting life-long learning, cultural exploration and the understanding of the library’s critical contributions to the residents of New Haven, the region and to community
organizations;
-Enhancing the library’s efforts to foster a sense of community;
-Improving the quality of life by hosting and sponsoring special programs and community events.
