About Spoleto Festival USA
The Festival: For 17 days and nights each spring, Spoleto Festival USA fills Charleston, South Carolina's historic theaters, churches and outdoor spaces with over 120 performances by renowned artists as well as emerging performers in disciplines ranging from opera, theater, music theater, and dance to chamber, symphonic, choral, and jazz music. The 2010 Spoleto Festival USA will be held May 28–June 13. Learn more about the current season.
Support the Orchestra: The Spoleto Festival USA Orchestra is an ongoing, nationally recognized educational program providing professional training and performance opportunities for hundreds of gifted young musicians at the college level and higher, who are selected from extensive auditions held each year in cities throughout the United States. The 2009 orchestra members hailed from across the globe, from South Carolina, Hungary and China to New Zealand, Venezuela and California, and alumni can be found in almost every professional orchestra in the U.S. Funds raised through the Spoleto Festival USA Auction support the operating costs of the Festival's Orchestra.
