Attend a Star-Studded Tribute to Serious Journalism
Sunday's Journalism Awards Gala is shaping up to be the media banquet of the year.
We're honoring NBC News Foreign Correspondent Richard Engel and 60 MINUTES Correspondent Lesley Stahl, along with the two LA Times Pulitzer-prize winners for breaking the Bell salary scandal. Bacardi is sponsoring our cocktail hour ( 4:45-5:45 pm, same time as our silent auction.) It will be an open bar for spirits.
It all takes place Sunday afternoon and evening in the legendary Crystal Ballroom in the historic Millennium Biltmore, beginning at 5 pm. Bacardi, sponsor of our cocktail hour, will be serving spirits at two open bars.
Standup comic Alonzo Bodden is expected to "roast" the press, while Ed Asner (Lou Grant) will add dignity and nostalgia to the occasion. We're expecting upwards of 450 influential journalists and their guests to attend. NBC and CBS will be there with tables as will Fox Sports West, the LA Times and Bloomberg News.
It's a great night to meet the people who shape our news of the city, the state and the world.
