We Appreciate all the Bidders and Donors So Very Much

Young D.C.'s first online auction is now closed. Thank you all for taking the time to check out the editorial cartoons we made available. By simply pointing, clicking, bidding and winning you've supported Young D.C.'s programs that provide First Amendment education, train teens in journalism and overcome harmful vestiges of segregation still prevalent today. Photo, left, shows two of our staffers who'd never have met if it weren't for Young D.C. They are covering a symposium named "The First Amendment Goes to School: 25 Years after Hazelwood v. Kuhlmeier" at American University Washington College of Law Jan. 28, 2013. Visit www.youngdc.org and check out the same staffers' coverage of a lighter theme, front page, April issue.

Congratulations to everyone who:

  • placed a winning bid
  • generously donated an editorial cartoon for auction
  • invited family, friends and community to make their bid to build a better world by encouraging teens to become media savvy adults who enjoy journalism and reject demagoguery.

Stay In Touch

Young D.C. offers year-round out-of-school activities to teens who volunteer plus school-time internships for teens whose schools guide them in our direction. Our big fundraiser, Cartoons & Cocktails, is in the fall. Be sure to stay in touch so you will be able to access dozens more cartoons in October 2013.
